AMBER PLAN SPONSORS

Amber Plan Sponsors provide financial support or donated manpower, equipment, or services to the Houston Local Emergency Communications Committee (LECC) in support of the Houston Regional Amber Plan.

Thank you to the Harris County Office of Emergency Management for funding initial development of the Amber Plan website by Read Communications.  Read Communications has also developed the School Closing Network and the Media Alert Notification System for Harris County.

The LECC is now seeking $50,000 of additional funding from corporations, businesses, foundations, and other supporters in order to: complete development of the Amber Plan website

complete development of the Amber Plan website

produce a training video for law enforcement agencies  
produce brochures for parents and the public  
incorporate as a non-profit organization (501-c3)  

Sponsors will be identified on the Amber Plan website, brochures, and on Amber Plan public service announcements which will be aired throughout the year by participating radio stations, television stations, and cable systems in the six-county Amber Plan region.

AMBER PLAN PARTNERS 

Amber Plan Partners are corporations, businesses, government agencies, community groups, and non-profit organizations that actively participate in the Amber Alert program. 

If funding is available to complete the Amber Plan website, the Amber Plan Partners program may be expanded later to include private individuals. 

There is no cost to become an Amber Plan Partner, but you must register in advance and be approved for participation by the Houston LECC’s Amber Plan Subcommittee.

Amber Plan Partners will receive e-mail or fax notification of every Amber Alert, Update, and Cancellation issued by KTRH-AM 740.
Amber Plan Partners are encouraged to notify their employees, customers, and vendors by e-mail or fax of each Amber Alert, urging them to be “on the lookout” for the abducted child, suspect, or suspect’s vehicle.
Municipal and school bus programs, taxi companies, courier and delivery services, repair service businesses, and other companies and government agencies that have a large number of drivers and vehicles out on the streets are especially encouraged to participate as Amber Plan Partners.
Amber Plan Partners are encouraged to promote the Amber Plan website (www.amber-plan.net) and to add a link on their agency or company website to the Amber Plan website.
Amber Plan Partners are authorized to purchase a TRAK computer system in order to receive an Amber Alert flyer with a color photograph of the abducted child.  For more information, call TRAK at 800-724-8725
TRAK flyers or Amber Plan website pages can be posted on employee bulletin boards, cash registers, customer service counters, or other high-visibility locations.
Only those organizations registered and approved by the Houston LECC’s Amber Plan Subcommittee as Amber Plan Partners are authorized to identify themselves as an “Amber Plan Partner” and to use the copyrighted “Amber Alert” logo in their advertising or promotional literature under guidelines approved by the Houston LECC.
